Google Forms Give Me More Time with Students

The estimated reading time for this post is 0 minutes

Today, while I was visiting the music department at Santa Ana High School, I noticed an interesting diagram on Victor De Los Santos’ computer monitor.  When I asked about it, he told me he was designing a Google Form so students could submit their measurements for the Mariachi Band uniforms.  Last year, measurements were recorded by hand and then typed in, and the process took a full two hours, sacrificing instructional time.  This year, he is collecting measurements directly into a spreadsheet via Google Forms, inserting screenshots of the uniforms – yes, images in a Google Form! – and the places where measurements are needed to guide them as they complete their measurements.
